Flash Card Games
All games can be played with either sound cards or tricky word cards

Slap Attack!

Set your flashcards down on the table and ask your child to slap the sound or word you say as quickly as they can.
Races!

How quickly can your child whizz through the sounds correctly? Time them the first time and see if they can beat it!

Building game!

How many words can your child build using the sounds. Don't worry if they are spelt incorrectly. If they make sense, well done!!!!

I.e. 'luv' not 'love'

What I might say-
Well done! I can see that sounds out 'love' but its actually a tricky word and we spell it like this 'love'. That's a really good go though!
Hide and seek!
This can be played with tricky words, words you have built or sound cards.

Hide a selection of sounds around the house and challenge your child to find them. I have hidden a 's' sound. Can you find it. Hide multiple sounds at once, that way your child is forced to recognize the sound/word they are finding.

Memory Game

Turn all the cards face down and challenge your child to find different sounds/words.
Hoppers

Line your flashcards up in a line and ask your child to hop to each sound and say them out loud as they go!

Twister!

Pop a load of sound cards down and challenge your child to put different body parts on different sounds. i.e. right leg on the 'f' sound. Left leg on the 'ch' sound. etc
Missing sounds!!!
(Can be done with words or sounds)

Start small and make this trickier.

Choose 2 sounds, show them to your child. Hide one and show the other. Whats missing?

Now with 3 sounds. Hide one. Whats missing?

Keep adding sounds until its to tricky to remember!!!!
